How Old is Too Old?

 

Like most wines and spirits, the old saying goes, “it gets better with age,” but after reading this article on Slate.com we now may beg to differ. Both Isaac and I have had the pleasure of sipping both the Pappy Van Winkle 20 year and 23 year. We both agreed that, not only was the 20 year a better, easier-to-drink bourbon, but a better bang for your buck.

My thoughts, you ask (and I’m glad you did)? Drink it while you have it. While the truth that many spirits and wines will (in fact) get better with age, why let it sit there, untouched, never knowing if you’ll get to sip that delicious treat? Find a special reason to enjoy what you have now.
